Note - At low wire feed speeds, it may be more
accurate to run the wire for more than 2 minutes
and then divide accordingly to provide enough
wire for an accurate measurement.
If the SET value does not agree with the AC-
TUAL value, then carry out the following
calculation:

Switch off the 9629 control and switch it on
while pressing both the jog touch pads to enter
the calibration mode. Press the scroll down
touch pad eight times to call up Screen 25, Low
Output.
Use the adjust knob to reset the low output
number to the new number calculated in the
routine above.
Switch the control off and on and then repeat
the test. Check the resulting wire feed speed to
verify that it is now accurate. If the wire feed
speed is still not correct, repeat the calibration
procedure.
NOTE
NOTE
Usually, it is unnecessary to change the Low
Input value after calculating it as shown on the
previous page. However, if the DISPLAY read-
ing is inaccurate at the low end and you would
like to change this value by one or two digits,
feel free to do so. If there is a large discepancy,
contact Jetline for further instructions as this
would indicate a linearity problem with the
transducer.
When calibrating at the very low end, where the
Low Input value is only a single digit, an exact
match between the ACTUAL and DISPLAY
value may be impossible because of resolution
limitations. In this case, the closest Low Input
value should be selected.
After making all the necessary changes, run the
wire feeder at a couple of intermediate speeds
to verify linearity. Then reset to closed loop
mode to On and reset the Wire Retract to its
original setting and the wire feed speed to the
desired value.

Regular Maintenance

Your 9629 wire feeder control requires a mini-
mum of maintenance. The following checks
should be carried out on a regular basis:
Weekly:
• Clean the front polycarbonate overlay panel
with a soft cloth - pay particular attention to the
window area. Do not use any abrasive cleaning
materials.
• Check the functionality of the controls, ad-
just knob and push button switches.
• Check interconnecting cables for cuts or
burns.
• Check security of Amphenol connections.
Monthly:
In addition to the weekly maintenance routine,
check the following:
• Check that the sequence of operation is sat-
isfactory.
Annually:
In addition to the weekly and monthly mainte-
nance routines, check the following:
• Check the touch pad areas to ensure that
there is no undue wear or splitting of the poly-
carbonate surface.
• Carry out the calibration routine to ensure
optimum, accurate operation of the control.
• Check the interior of the control for possible
loose connections and/or components caused by
vibration or knocks.
• Check the interior of the control for signs of
overheating of wires and/or components.
