Screen 17 CLOSED LOOP MODE
This screen allows the closed loop mode to be
turned On or Off, this is achieved by turning
the adjust knob.
When the closed loop mode is switched to On,
it is necessary for the control to receive a suit-
able signal from a tach-generator on the wire
feed motor.
Operating the control in closed loop mode results
in increased travel speed accuracy (better than
+1% of the rated speed).
If closed loop mode is set to Off, the next
screen will not appear, the system will proceed
to Screen 20.
Press the touch pad with the down arrow to
proceed to the next screen.
Screen 18 LOOP SENSING
This screen allows the sensitivity of the closed
loop sensing to be set by turning the adjust knob
to increase or decrease the value. As the change
is made, the number on the display changes.
When closed loop control is used, the control
compares the actual speed (as indicated by the
tach-generator) with the preset speed and makes
a correction 20 times per second. The amount
of each correction is the actual error multiplied
by the percentage number entered as the loop
sensing percentage.
It is recommended that a relatively low number
be selected, the unit is pre-programmed with
10% as the default value. Too high a number
will result in a large correction being sent out
