Connection Guide The order that the cameras are plugged in determines Rear of Monitor the order that they’ll be shown when you change channel or engage Auto- Switching mode. The channels connections are arranged from left to right, when viewed from the rear. Thus, the leftmost connection is channel 1, and the rightmost channel 4.

Actually, the microphone is inside the camera hous- ing - the little hole is to let some sound V-Hold in. Operating the Monitor Power Switch: For turning the monitor ON and OFF. This is the master switch - whilst the monitor is off, the cameras will also be off, and information will not be sent through the A/V OUT ports. Contrast: For altering the dynamic range (the difference between the blackest- black and the whitest-white) of the image on the screen. Too low, and the image will “grey out”. Too high, and the image will look like an abstract black and white artwork. Somewhere around the middle is usually the best bet. Brightness: How bright everything on the screen appears to be. If this is too low, large sections of the screen may “black out”. Too high, and areas will “white out”. Note that this setting won’t affect how well the cameras see, just how the screen displays the images. Volume: Alters how loud the audio will seem to be. If your cameras are in close proximity to the monitor, you may hear a high pitched squeal - this is “feedback”. To avoid it, simply reduce the volume. Channel Switch: For switching “up” one channel. Once the monitor has cycled through all four connected cameras, it will select Auto-Switching mode. Green LED (Auto-Switching Indicator): When this LED is on, this indicates that the monitor is in automatic switching (Auto-Switch) mode. Power Input: For connecting the supplied (and only the supplied) 9V power adapter.

Tips and Tricks • There are two screw holes on the base of each camera. • Using an appropriate type of screw or bolt, use these holes to affix the camera to a surface. • Then pivot the camera to face the direction of your choice. NOTE: It is important to have the camera upright relative to what you want the camera to view - the cameras image cannot be flipped. If the camera is upside down, so is the picture! For this reason, mounting the camera on the ceiling is highly impractical. We suggest mounting the camera high on a wall, so that it can be aligned to be upright relative to your subject.

Troubleshooting & Technical Specifications Problem: There’s no image on the monitor. Solution: Ensure the power is connected, using the supplied power adaptor. Check the video cable is correctly attached, at both the monitor and the camera. Check that the lens cap has been removed from the camera. Double-check that the monitor is set to the right channel. Try plugging the camera into a different channel. Check the brightness/contrast settings. Problem: The image is blurry. Solution: Check that the camera is in focus by rotating the lens both ways, to see if the image becomes clearer. Check that the lens is clean. If not, clean with the corner of a scratch-free cloth, such as those recommended for cleaning LCD screens. Problem: The image is too bright or too dark. Solution: Adjust the brightness/contrast setting. Ensure the cameras have enough light (if too dark) or are not looking directly into a strong light source (if too light). The cameras have built in infrared LEDs, the range in low-light conditions or darkness is limited to approximately 3m/9ft. Objects outside this range will not be visible at all, and if there’s nothing within this range, the screen will simply appear black.
