General This door control unit is a high-quality product with the following performance characteristics: • The control unit is available in the following versions: ∙ R – relay control unit ∙ S – contactor control unit • Positioning the door at and between its limit positions (open, close and intermediate positions) •...
Safety instructions The following safety instructions and warnings are intended to avert hazards and to prevent property damage and personal injury. It is important to follow these instructions. General information • In addition to the fire and accident prevention regulations, the safety instructions given in the current standard version of EN 12453, EN 12978, VDE 0100, EN 50110, EN 60204, EN 50178, EN 60335 and ASR A1.7 must be observed.

• Only use spare parts, tools and accessory devices which have been approved by the manufacturer. Un- approved third-party products or modifications to the system and its accessories represent a risk to your safety and the safety of others. This means that the use of unapproved third-party products, or modifications which have not been agreed with or approved by us, are prohibited.
Intended use The control unit in these instructions is exclusively designed for indoor use for the operation of roller doors, vertical lift gates, sec- tional doors, flexible (fabric) doors or indirectly operated door systems. This type of control unit must not be used in potentially explosive areas. The mains cable and any other connected cables are not designed for carrying the control unit.
Installation Install the control unit so that the control elements are easily accessible. Caution • Before installation, the control unit must be checked for any damage sustained in trans- port or elsewhere. Damage to the interior of the control unit may lead to considerable consequential damage to the control unit and jeopardise the safety of the operator.

Electrical connection Caution The electrical connection may only be carried out by a qualified electrician! Please ensure adherence to all data on the supplied control unit and all applicable EN standards! When carrying out any connection work, the door system must be safely disconnected from the mains by switching off the power supply.
General information regarding the levels The control unit has several levels. Operation of the door (OPEN, CLOSE) is possible in the status level only. Status level Display of door status, error reports, input statuses, operation of the door (opening, closing), etc.
Page 11
Current status On the display, the current status of the door e.g. limit position CLOSE (_Ec_), switching states of safety inputs such as safety con- tact edges (ΞSEΞ) or light barriers (ΞLbΞ) are shown. Concerning this, please also see the table: Information display and mes- sages.
General operating information regarding the operator level and technician level While the door is stationary, it is possible to switch from the status level to the parameterisation level for specific door settings. In parameterisation mode DIP switch PAR=ON, the dot in the first segment on the left flashes. After 30 minutes without an operating command via the DDT, parameterisation mode is exited once more for safety reasons.
Technician level For additional settings, you must switch to the password-protected technician level (P.999: 0410). Password entry DDT activation Explanation 7-segment display 1. PAR = ON Control unit in the status level When the door is stationary, the parameterisation level can be accessed.

The positioning systems are identified in the text as follows: MLS: Mechanical limit switch AE: Absolute value encoder The absolute value encoders must meet Performance Level “c” in combination with the control unit. Becker-Antriebe GmbH drives with a Kostal single-turn absolute value encoder meet these requirements. Initial operation After switching on the control unit for the first time, or after choosing to "Restore factory setting", parameters are automatically...
Checking the running direction The control unit must be connected to a clockwise rotating field. Move the door into the semi-opened position using the emer- gency manual operation function. Insert the CEE plug of the control unit into the socket or switch the main switch of the control unit on. The direction of drive rotation depends on the control unit and must be checked first.

To test the setting height of the internal VES pre-limit switch, place the VES gauge or a similar implement (height: 50 mm, e.g. wooden slat, pipe or similar) on the ground under the door, in the middle of the clearance of the door opening. If the door hits the 50 mm high VES gauge or another implement, it must stop immediately and then move away from the simulated obstacle (open).
Page 19
Wicket door switch and slack rope switch A wicket door switch with redundant contacts can be connected to terminal SE2. Two slack rope switches can be connected in series to the wicket door switch. The signal transmitters must meet Performance Level “c” in combination with the control unit. If no wicket door switch is used, an appropriate substitute resistor (2k Ohm) must be switched on.
P.4F0 – safety input SE2 Function Profile Description Testing 0.XX No function No function 0.00 3.XX Adjustment with an 8k2 resistor (e.g. Vitector ENS-S 8200) is recommended (factory set- ting) to achieve safe operation according to EN 12453. If the door is open, travel is not Wicket door possible.

Function Profile Description 12.XX For radio, only "Door visible = No" can be parameterised. An NO – normally open contact must be used as the contact type. Drive command CLOSE Maintained operation Briefly pressing the button causes the door to move to the CLOSE limit position. If the CLOSE command is active for more than 60 seconds, the error code E.116 appears.
Page 23
Function Profile Description 16.XX If the selection switch partial opening is activated, the door moves to the partial opening position or otherwise to the OPEN limit position. Selection switch partial opening If using an absolute value encoder, the height of the partial opening can be selected with P.244. 0: No intermediate stop position permitted, intermediate stop position is the same as door OPEN limit position 1: Half door opening distance...

Function Profile Description 22.XX If the light barrier signals when travelling in the CLOSE direction (display: =Lb), the door is brought to an immediate halt and reversed for 3 seconds (can be set using P.451). Light barrier 1 If the beam of light is interrupted and then released again while the door is open or being opened, the stay-open time begins a new count (only if reclosing is activated).
Page 25
Function Profile Description 26.XX If the pull-in safety device signals during travel, the error code E.343 appears and the door is stopped. In the case of pull-in safety CLOSE, the CLOSE travel is blocked. Travel in the opposite dir- Pull-in safety device ection is possible in dead-man mode.
Connection and functions of the switch outputs Switching outputs The door control unit has 3 floating relay switching outputs (REL1 and REL2 are changeover contacts, and REL3 is a normally open contact), see chapter Position of the terminals and complete connecting diagram: P.991: 0 Mechanical limit switching [} 53] or Position of the terminals and complete connecting diagram: P991: 2 Absolute value encoder [} 55]).

External testing, high active In the case of devices with a separate test input, this is used instead of the power switch-off. Wake-up signal for radio safety edge Radio safety edges are inactive while the door is still. To activate the safety edge, the wake-up signal must be used and connected to the safety edge.
Expansion board BDC-i440 M1 (optional) The use of the BDC-i440 M1 expansion board makes 2 inputs and 2 further relay switching outputs available, REL4 – REL5 (changeover contacts), each with a switching capacity of 230 V AC / 3 A. The expansion board is activated using P.800:1. The ad- ditional outputs REL4 –...
