− Tighten lock lever (70) again to
hold the saw blade in position.

If necessary use fence, sliding car-
riage or table extension.

Start motor.

Assume proper operating position.

Cut workpiece in a single pass.

Stop machine and lower the saw
blade guard fully, if no further cutting
is to be done immediately after-
wards.
Tips and Tricks
Use roller supports on both sides of
the saw when cutting long stock.
To simplify repetitive cut-off work
use a stock stop.

10. Spindle Moulder Mode

10.1 Setup

Danger!
Before setting the machine up:
− Switch machine OFF.
− Unplug.
− Wait until machine has come to a
complete stop.
Flat belt change
For operation as spindle moulder the flat
belt (72) must be positioned as illus-
trated:

If this is not the case, position it as fol-
lows.
1.
Open the access door.
2.
Loosen lock lever (73) and lift motor
slightly with handle (74).
3.
Take the flat belt that is not required
off the motor pulley (75).
4.
Tuck the flat belts (76) not required
behind the retaining springs as illus-
trated, so they do not interfere with
the drive belt on the pulleys.
5.
Place the flat belt (72) on the cutter
spindle and on the motor pulley (75).
Caution!
In spindle moulder mode the
cutter spindle speed must be selec-
ted according to the cutter diameter!

Danger!
At these combinations there is
an increased risk of kickback.
The speed is set by changing the flat
belt:
small (= rear) motor pulley: (77)
speed of cutter spindle 4500 min
large (= front) motor pulley: (78)

Check direction of rotation of the
cutter spindle: Turn motor pulley by

hand in direction indicated by arrow
– the cutter spindle must rotate
clockwise (if viewed from top). If this
is not the case, take flat belt off the
cutter spindle and turn over.
7.
Tighten the flat belt by pushing the
motor downward with the handle
(74).
8.
Lock motor in position with the lock
lever (73).
9.
Close access door.

retracted and covered by table

Rip fence dismounted?
Suction port disconnected from the
dust collector and lowered?
Remove table insert and table insert
rings.
Loosen locking screw (79) and
crank cutter spindle with handwheel
(80) fully up.

To lock the cutter spindle, slide the
long lock pin (81) through the slot
into the hole provided in the cutter
spindle.
Loosen spindle nut (82) and remove
any fitted cutters and spacing col-
lars.
Fit new cutter and spacing collars on
the cutter spindle.
Caution!
the cutter (counter-clockwise if
viewed from top)!
the cutter spindle as far down
possible!
Cover the clearance zone around
the cutter spindle with table insert
rings that accommodate the cutter
head diameter.
Fill space between cutter and spin-
dle thread with spacing collars.
