6.1

Assembly of the additional handle

For safety reasons, always use the addi-
tional handle (9) supplied.
Release the additional handle by turning the
hexagon ring (10) counterclockwise. The addi-
tional handle can be moved to desired angle.
Tighten the hexagon ring (10) firmly.
The additional handle (9) must be firmly screwed
into the additional handle mount.

7 Operation

7.1

Depth Stop Setting

Release the wing nut (11). Set depth stop (12) to
the desired drilling depth and retighten wing nut.
7.2

Positioning, removing tool

Before inserting, clean tool shank and
apply supplied special grease (accesso-
ries: Order no. 6.31800)!
Use only SDS-max tools.
Positioning tool:
Turn tool and insert until it engages. The tool is
locked automatically.
Pull on the tool to check that it is
correctly seated. (The tool must move a
few centimetres in axial direction.)
Removing the tool:
Pull tool lock (1) to the rear (a) in direction of arrow
and remove tool (b).

Setting operating mode

Press the lock (3) and hold in. Select the desired
operating mode by turning the switch button (2).
(Switch button must be horizontal). Release the
lock and check that the switch button has
engaged.

Setting chisel position

The Chisel can be locked in 8 different positions.
Insert the chisel.
Press the lock (3) and hold in.
Turn the switch button (2) until it points upwards

is in the desired position.
Press the lock (3) and hold in.
Turn the switch button (2) to position
the lock (3) and check that the switch button (2) has
engaged.
Turn the chisel in the direction of the arrow until it
engages.
When a chisel is fitted, only operate the
machine in the chiselling operating
mode.
7.5

Setting impact force and speed

Turn the adjusting wheel (8) to the desired value.
The higher the number, the greater the speed and
the higher the impact force.
The correct setting is found by trial and error.
Example: if soft, brittle materials are being
chiselled, or cracking is to be kept to a minimum,
set the adjusting wheel to "1" to "2" (low impact
force).
For demolition or for drilling into harder materials,
set the adjusting wheel to the highest number
(max.power).
7.6

Switching On and Off

To switch on: press the trigger switch (5).
To switch off: release the trigger switch (5).

8 Tips and Tricks

When working with the chisel hammer, only a
moderate amount of press-on pressure (approx.
20 kg) is required. High press-on pressure does
not increase work capacity and can possibly
shorten the service life of your tool.
In the case of deep bores, pull the drill bit out of the
bore from time to time in order to remove the stone
dust.

9 Maintenance

Motor cleaning: blow out the machine regularly
and thoroughly through the air slots with
compressed air.

10 Troubleshooting

Electronic signal indicator (6):
Rapid flashing - CODE! System
The tool was locked with a CODE! Key. The elec-
tronic anti-theft device is active. The tool can be
unlocked again with a CODE! key.
