For Trooper TL DVRs with firmware versions before 1.5.0 and Explorer DX12 and MX4 DVRs.
Use this guide to save the existing DVR network settings when uploading a new DVR configuration.
Configuration files can be uploaded at the DVR with a USB memory device or via vMax Web or vMax Commander.

Manual Configuration Upload to DVR

This method requires physical access to the DVR and an LCD Monitor and trackball USB mouse.
CAUTION: Risk of Network Settings Loss
Use this guide to retain the current DVR network settings when uploading a new configuration.
When uploading via USB, if installers do not view and confirm the Network Settings menu after completing the
configuration upload and before restarting the DVR, the original settings will be lost.

With the DVR on, connect the LCD monitor and USB mouse.

Insert the USB device with the Configuration file to the DVR USB socket.

In the DVR configuration menus, click System, then click Program Update.

In the Program Update menu, from the Load Configuration field, select the configuration file to load.
Important:
The Load Configuration menu only displays the ten most recent configuration files on the USB drive. Installers need to
organize their configuration files appropriately.

In the Configuration Warning window, click Yes .

  • Page 3 On a laptop or PC, copy the cnfg.seon DVR configuration file. Power up the DVR using the vehicle ignition. Open Internet Explorer (32 bit version only) and, from the Seon DVR list, click the link for the bus DVR configuration you want to update.

Click Network and, on the Network tab, copy the network settings you have currently on the DVR for re-entry after you update the configuration.
