Overview
The iP-28xx series are network attached, IP addressed, Web Controlled, multi outlet, remote A/C power switches. All units
have two independent power feeds, each servicing 4 outlets. These can be controlled either as tandem pairs of outlets for
controlling systems with dual redundant power supplies, or to achieve higher current switching by dividing the eight systems
across two power feeds. The following models are covered in this manual.
iP-2820
8 switched outlets, for use on 115 VAC, 20 Amp Service – NEMA N5-20
iP-2815
8 switched outlets, for use on 115 VAC, 15 Amp Service – NEMA N5-15
iP-2810
8 switched outlets, for use on 115/230 VAC, 12 /10 Amp International – IEC 320
"M" suffix designations in the model name indicate models equipped with an internal modem.

If the ping command returns “host not responding” 4 times then the address has not been programmed properly, or the IP Address is incorrect. In either case redo step 2. If the problem persists contact the Dataprobe Tech Support Hot Line. -

iP-28xx Page 6 2) Setting Parameters using Telnet or Serial Port Menus Additional configuration parameters need to be set using Telnet or the serial/modem menu system. To connect to the switch using telnet, run your telnet client program (provided with your operating system) and connect to the IP address as set in step one above. -

Select 4 from the Setup Menu. The password can be up to 8 characters and is case sensitive. Enter the current password, followed by the new password, then confirm the new password. iP-28xx Page 9 Web Browser Operation The switch can be accessed by any Web Browser. To access the switch, address your browser to the IP address set in the switch. As shown in the screen right, this browser is connected to switch with address 192.168.1.195. - Page 10 iP-28xx Page 10 Direct Messaging Control IP-815 allows direct computer control using simple ASCII strings. You can use this control technique either through the serial port or via TCP/IP messaging. To access the iP-2815 over the network, open a connection on port 9100.
