 After changing the tools or making any adjustments, make sure
the collet is securely tightened. Loose tools can cause loss of
control. Run the machine at maximum no-load speed for one
minute. Damaged tools will normally break apart during this test
time.
 Do not touch the grinding disc and the workpiece directly after
use as they might be very hot.
 Only use this straight grinder for dry grinding. Do not use tools
that require liquid coolants. Using water or other liquid coolants
may result in electrocution or shock.
 If possible secure the workpiece.
 Never lay the machine down until the tool has come to a
complete stop. Never try to stop the tool by hand.
 Do not run the machine while carrying it at the side.
 Regularly clean the ventilation slots of the machine.
 Use special care when working corners, sharp edges, etc. Avoid
bouncing and snagging the tool.
 Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched or snagged rotating
wheel, backing pad, brush or any other tool. Pinching or snagging
causes rapid stalling of the rotating tool which in turn causes the
uncontrolled machine to be forced in the direction opposite of the
tool's rotation at the point of the binding.
 Do not attach a thin toothed saw blade. Such blades create
frequent kickback and loss of control.
 Corners, sharp edges or bouncing have a tendency to snag the
rotating tool.
 Always feed the tool into the material in the same direction as the
cutting edge is exiting from the material (which is the same
direction as the chips are thrown). Feeding the machine in the
wrong direction causes the cutting edge of the tool to climb out of
the work and pull the machine in the direction of this feed.
