As well as Note On and Note Off informa-
tion, the Silent Series grand piano can also
send information on the status of the sustain
pedal, the shift pedal, and the sostenuto
pedal. See the separate MIDI Implementa-
tion Chart for details.
NOTE:
Not all MIDI devices can respond to these
messages, though. Refer to the other instru-
ment's manual for details.
Using a MIDI device to play the Silent
Series grand piano — MIDI IN
When the Grand Silent system is engaged,
you can use you Silent Series grand piano as
a sound source for a sequencer or personal
computer — and you can play along with
the MIDI performance. You can also play
duets with another musician playing on an
external MIDI keyboard (see the illustration
on page 47).
Connect one end of a MIDI cable to the
MIDI IN terminal at the back of the con-
trol box, and the other end to the MIDI
OUT of the external device.
The Silent Series grand piano receives
MIDI data on channel 1. Set the Transmit
Channel on the external device to channel
1 (refer to the instructions for the external
device).

Einsatz eines MIDI-Gerätes zu Spiel
Ihres Flügels der "Silent"-Serie – MIDI IN
Wenn das "Grand Silent"-System aktiviert
ist, können Sie Ihren Flügel der "Silent"-
Serie als Tonerzeuger an einen Sequenzer
oder Computer anschließen – und Sie
können zu den empfangenen MIDI-Daten
dazuspielen. Sie können auch ein Duett mit
einem anderen Musiker spielen, der auf einer
externen MIDI-Tastatur

Verbinden Sie das eine Ende eines MIDI-
Kabels mit der Buchse MIDI IN des Steuer-
kastens, und das andere Ende mit dem
Ausgang MIDI OUT des anderen Instru-
ments.
Das Digitalpiano empfängt MIDI-Daten
auf Kanal 1. Stellen Sie also den MIDI-Sen-
dekanal des anderen MIDI-Instruments
auf 1 (lesen Sie dazu die Anleitung des
anderen Instruments).
