Heat Control Box Troubleshooting

Problem
System does not heat.
Slow warm-up time.

Platen Valve Kit Troubleshooting

Problem
Material leak.
System does not depressurize as
expected.
Valve does not open or close as
expected.

Cause
Blown fuse.
Over-temperature switch tripped.
Cable to over-temperature switch is
off or broken.
Electrical short.
Disconnect switched OFF.
Low incoming voltage.
Insufficient power supplied to sys-
tem.
Zone Types set up incorrectly.
Open heater.
Cause
Loose fitting connection.
Improper fitting used.
Clogged hose or fittings.
Failed solenoid actuation.
Solenoid mufflers plugged.
No air to solenoid.
Troubleshooting
Solution
Replace fuse.
Measure over-temperature switch
resistance. It should read close to 0
ohms when at room temperature. If
open, replace over-temperature
switch.
Check connection of cable to
over-temperature switch both to main
board and to switch. If connection is
good, look for a break in the wire.
Check jumpers.
Check resistances on heater rods
and RTDs.
Check cable connections.
Check disconnects.
Verify incoming voltage is 200V L-N
or 240V L-C.
Connect system to a power supply
capable of maximum power per sys-
tem specification. All changes must
be performed by a qualified electri-
cian.
Ensure Zone Types are set up cor-
rectly in the ADM.
Verify resistance of heaters. See
Check Heater Resistance on page
35.
Solution
Ensure fittings are tight. See Parts
on page 59 for part identification.
Replace fitting. See Parts on page
59 for part identification.
Flush or replace clogged pieces.
Replace solenoid.
Replace solenoid mufflers.
Re-establish air supply to solenoid.
