Flame sensor FFS 06

Installation and operation of the flame sensor
Install the flame sensor (Fig. 9) with its assembly bracket to the
opening of the burner, so that the flame of the burner can be mon-
itored and visible during the burner ignition phase.
The min. threshold value for the IR flame sensor is 15 mV and 25
mV for the UV flame sensor. Additional information on installation
are included in the technical documentation of the flame monitor-
ing devices.
The UV flame sensors do not have the ability to
adjust the sensitivity of the sensor.
To obtain the optimum angle of incidence for
WARNING
flame monitoring, the signal voltage must be
measured at its maximum.
The flame sensor must be connected according to the colour cod-
ing of the monitoring device used, respectively from the allocation
of the ETAMATIC terminals (Fig. 10).
The connection cable has an additional measuring wire (pink) that
can be used to measure the signal voltage via a hand-held digital
multimeter (according to EN 61010, input impedance >5 M).
The voltage is measured between the earth potential (blue wire)
and the additional measurement wire (pink wire) of the connec-
tion cable to determine an optimum flame detection.
