TROUBLESHOOTING AND RECTIFICATION

Problem
The pump does not
work.
The device is working
(i.e., the pump is
moving), but no fluid
is delivered.
The product flow is
suspended.
The pump supply
decreases while
working.
The pump supply
decreases during
work, and tends to
stop completely.
The product delivery
valve is closed,
nevertheless the
pump continues to
run even if the air cut-
off valve is closed.
If none of the causes of malfunction mentioned are present, the defect can be remedied
by a WAGNER Service Center.

Cause
The air motor does not work or
stops.
No pressure indication (pressure
regulator defective)
The delivery line is clogged.
Insufficient compressed air supply. Check the compressed air supply.
The filter in the delivery line is
clogged (if installed).
The suction filter is clogged (if
installed).
No fluid is available at the pump's
inlet.
The suction tube is clogged or
leaking (is possibly sucking air in
from the atmosphere).
The suction tube is partially clogged. Check the suction tube. Replace it if necessary.
Cavitation (air bubbles in the liquid) Check the suction in the tank. Exclude air suction
The non-return valve doesn't
completely close.
Partial clogging of the delivery line.
Deviations of the product
characteristics (like viscosity).
Ice formation inside the air outlet
pipes
The non-return valves' guides in the
delivery manifold are worn-out.
The product delivery valve or the
delivery manifold leaks.
Dirty or worn-out non-return valves
in the delivery and suction manifold.
Remedy
Close the air cut-off valve, increase the pressure,
then open the air cut-off valve immediately.
Disconnect compressed air supply briefly or repair
or replace the pressure regulator.
Check the delivery line.
Clean or replace the filter.
Carefully clean the filter.
Check the fluid level in the tank or container.
Check the suction tube. Replace it if necessary.
due to high viscosity.
Check for impurities on the valve seats. Replace the
non-return valves if necessary.
Check the delivery line.
Check the product characteristics.
Check the compressed air quality.
Install a condensation separator in the air line.
Install an air dryer if necessary.
If necessary, install an oiler and fill it with special
de-icing fluid.
Replace the delivery manifold (or in the case of
plastic pumps, replace the insert).
Check the product delivery valve and the seals of
the delivery manifold.
Clean the non-return valves and replace them if
they are worn.
