Troubleshooting
Problem
A and B fluid pressures not
consistent
A or B fluid pressure falls off
after top change over
A or B pressure changes after
mix manifold is closed
Fluid relief valve opens allow-
ing fluid out of bottom port.
Fluid pressure in line
exceeded system pressure rat-
ing
Flush pump does not run
* To determine if the fluid hose or gun is obstructed, relieve the pressure. Disconnect the fluid hose and place a con-
tainer at the pump fluid outlet to catch any fluid. Turn on the air just enough to start the pump. It the pump starts when
the air is turned on, the obstruction is in the hose or gun.
32
Cause
Pump cavitation
Suction inlet plumbing drawing air
Ball check in pump is not checking
Pump cavitation
External fluid leak
Internal leak of fluid pump seals or
check valves causing loss of outlet
pressure.
Pump fluid pressure set too high.
Unbalanced load between A and B
fluid pump.
Filter plugged.
Air supply to flush pump turned off
Air supply pressure to flush pump set
too low
Mix manifold solvent valves not "on"
Gun not triggered
Mix Manifold or mixed material hose
plugged
Solution
Suction tube and hose restricted
Suction hose and tube fittings are loose
allowing suction of air into pump
Pump is contaminated with dried paint of
foreign materials
Suction tube restricted
Fix hose and fitting leaks
Clean or repair proportioning pump
Reduce air supply pressure to proportioner
Suction tube and hose restricted
Suction hose and tube fittings are loose
allowing suction of air into pump
Pump is contaminated with dried paint of
foreign materials
Fix hose and fitting leaks
Clean or repair proportioning pump
Clean filters
Turn on air supply
Increase air supply pressure
Open flush valves and gun
Trigger spray gun
Repair and replace mix manifold and mixed
material hoses
