Update Software Front Panel Controller for Pronto

Front panel software is recorded in a Flash-EPROM. Refer to figure 21 on page 30. Additionally it includes boot
software.
Starting with boot version 1.01 and front panel software release 1.07 the software can be loaded from hard
disk. For earlier releases the EPROM has to be changed using a suitable tool.
1 Power off console
2 While switching on power, press keys GO, GOBACK and PAUSE on Playback 1
3 LCD display:
Boot Version 1.01
Software load requested
Waiting for software from PC...
4 Pronto boots. If nothing is displayed on the monitor while booting, press push button between VGA-
connectors on rear panel using a ball point pen or similar tool
5 Run shutdown. Monitor displays DOS-prompt C:\Pronto>
6 Type command loadcons
7 Monitor displays
This will update the software of a Pronto/Pronto+/Jaguar/Jaguar+ console.

type y

Which console do you have (1.Pronto 2.Pronto+ 3.Jaguar 4.Jaguar+)
type digit for your type of console (1 for Pronto)

Preparing to load Pronto software
1. Make sure the PRONTO.S1 file is in the current directory
2. Turn on the Pronto console while holding GO, PAUSE and GO BACK keys pressed.
3. Wait for the display to show a message that the Pronto is waiting for the PC
4. Press ENTER to start loading or any other key to exit.
Press key ENTER on keyboard.
10 Repeat procedure, if message TIMEOUT is displayed.
11 On the LCD display a counter is counted to around 3500, on the monitor dots show the progress of
loading the software. Loading has ended, when DOS prompt is displayed again.
