(Fig. 1-4) Glover Box Under Panel Fig. 1-4 Nylon Panel Removal Tool (e) Remove the driver and passenger side cowl cover. (Fig. 1-5) Cowl Cover (1) Remove the one nut securing the cowl cover.
  • Page 4 SCION 2008- ILLUMINATED DOOR SILLS Procedure Phillips Screwdriver (h) Remove two screws securing the lower steering column cover behind the steering wheel. (Fig. 1-8) (1) Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to ON to unlock the steering wheel.
  • Page 5 SCION 2008- ILLUMINATED DOOR SILLS Procedure Cigarette Lighter Connector (l) Carefully lift up the center console panel and disconnect the cigarette lighter connector and Harness the harness clip. Set console panel aside. Clip (Fig. 1-12) Fig. 1-12 Nylon Panel Removal Tool Center Cluster Panel (m) Remove the center cluster panel.
  • Page 6 SCION 2008- ILLUMINATED DOOR SILLS Procedure Pliers (c) Locate and remove the blue 22 pin connector located at the driver side cowl area. (Fig. 2-2) (d) Install a T-Tap to the orange wire (pin #1) on the 22 pin connector, about 1 inch from the connector end.
  • Page 7 SCION 2008- ILLUMINATED DOOR SILLS Procedure (i) Locate the driver side illuminated door sill. Remove tape liner from back of lighted side sill. (Fig. 2-5) Tape Liner (j) Install lighted side sill to vehicle. (1) The word “SCION” should be right side Fig.
  • Page 8 SCION 2008- ILLUMINATED DOOR SILLS Procedure Wire Cutters (m) Secure the power wire from the lighted side sill to vehicle harness using a wire tie. Wire tie (Fig. 2-9) Fig. 2-9 (n) Route lighted side sill harness toward front Wire Cutters of car along side of vehicle harness.

Install Passenger Crossover Harness. (a) Attach crossover male connector to Power Connectors harness female connector and wrap with the thick foam tape.

  • Page 12 SCION 2008- ILLUMINATED DOOR SILLS Procedure Crossover Wire Cutters (h) Route the Crossover harness through the Harness glove box area, then secure it to the vehicle harness with three wire ties. (Fig. 4-8) Crossover Wire Ties Harness Fig. 4-8 (i) Continue to route the crossover harness down Wire Cutters to the passenger side connector block.
  • Page 13 SCION 2008- ILLUMINATED DOOR SILLS Procedure Weather Stripping 5. Install Passenger Side Door Sill (a) Lift up the passenger side door weather stripping. (Fig. 5-1) (b) Locate the crescent shaped depression on the pinch weld. Clean the pinch weld surface Fig.
  • Page 14 SCION 2008- ILLUMINATED DOOR SILLS Procedure Locator Pin (f) Install lighted side sill to vehicle. (1) The word “SCION” should be right side up reading from the outside of the vehicle. Alignment Hole (2) Be sure locating pin aligns correctly with vehicle alignment holes.
  • Page 15 SCION 2008- ILLUMINATED DOOR SILLS Procedure (k) Place a protective blanket on top of the side sill. Wire Cutters (l) Connect crossover harness to sill harness. (1) Wrap connector with the thick foam tape and secure the harness with three wire Wire Ties ties as shown.
  • Page 16 SCION 2008- ILLUMINATED DOOR SILLS Procedure (g) Reinstall the driver and passenger side cowl cover and door scuffs. (h) Reinstall the glove box under panel. (i) Reconnect the vehicle’s negative battery cable. (1) Position the negative battery cable at the original factory position.
  • Page 17 SCION 2008 - ILLUMINATED DOOR SILLS Checklist - these points MUST be checked to ensure a quality installation. Check: Look For: Accessory Function Checks Open the door. Door sill light should turn on. Close the door. Door sill light should turn off. Vehicle Function Checks Interior lights.
