Document Jam Detection

If a jam occurs when a document is being issued, the printer:
• Stops printing.
• Lights the ERROR light on the front of the printer (figure 3 on page 5.)
• Sounds several beeps.
• Displays a message on the LCD:
JAM OCCURRED

To Remove Jammed Document

1. If the lockable cover is in place, remove it. See the "Installing Lockable Cover" section on page 11 for
instructions.
2. Open locking latch on right side door then pull out and down on the door to open it. (See figure 1 on page 3
for location of the right side door.)
Note: When door is ajar, power automatically shuts off.
3. Open cover marked A by pulling the button marked A out and then swing the cover down.
4. Locate jam area inside printer. Be sure to check jam location area from LCD display (see above). First digit
is from bin location, second digit is jam location.
5. Remove jammed document(s). If jam is between numbered areas, use the document advance knobs marked
C and E to move document forward or backward if needed, you can also push green release lever to the right
to remove documents.
6. Close door A, and push in the button to secure it.
7. Shut side door of printer, and make sure latch is secure. The LCD will flash multiple messages. When
"PECTAB RECOVERY IN PROGRESS" appears, printing will resume.
Note: If printing does not resume after 90 seconds, use the HMOM format to verify printer status. See
HELP HMOM for more information.
If printer status is up, and error persists, contact the Apollo Customer Support Center for additional
assistance.
8. If you use the Lockable Cover, reinstall it, and lock it in place. See the "Installing Lockable Cover" section
on page 11 for instructions.
