About the directory

The directory stores up to 1,000 entries with up to 30 digits for each phone
number and 15 characters for each name.
Directory entries are stored at the telephone base and
shared by all system handsets. Any changes made on one
handset apply to all.
Only one handset can review the directory at a time. If
another handset tries to enter the directory, its screen
shows Not available.
When there are no records in the directory, the screen shows
List empty.
When you try to save a number already stored in the directory, the screen
shows Number repeated.
Directory entries can also be saved to the allow list or block list. See Allow
list on page 102 and Block list on page 98.
When Smart call blocker is on, calls with numbers saved in the directory will
get through and ring on your telephone. If a number saved in the directory is
also saved in the block list, calls from this number will be blocked.
