  • Page 5 This Setup Guide describes the preparation for the use cases listed on the following pages, and the daily checks required when using a Sony camcorder with a CBK-WA100/101-wireless adapter. Common items for use cases are listed in chapters 3 and 5, and individual items for each use case are listed separately in chapters 4 and 6 to 11.

    3.1.1. 4G/LTE USB Modem The supported USB modem models vary depending on the country or region. For details, contact a Sony professional sales representative. “Single Link” and “Dual Link” are both supported for the Live Streaming Operation use case. “Single Link” uses one network, while “Dual Link” uses multiple networks for streaming.

    (see The user name and password for access authentication are required to log in using the web menu of the CBK-WA100/101. For security, set the user name and password by yourself. It is recommended that you set a password with a sufficiently long character string that is hard to guess by others, and that you store it safely.

    If two USB modems are attached using the CBK-DL1, the information for both modems appears in the web menu. 5.3.2. Wireless LAN 5.3.2.1. Wireless LAN Station mode settings Start the unit in wireless LAN access point mode, and connect to the CBK-WA100/101 from a mobile device. Access the web menu, and select Settings > Station Settings.
  • Page 22 Status LED lights up green and the ST LED lights up blue. If the connection with the mobile device is lost, connect the mobile device to the network of the registered SSID. Check the IP address of the CBK-WA100/101 on the configuration screen for the access point to connect to.
  • Page 23 When operating normally in AP mode, the AP icon appears on the LCD panel of the camcorder. Connect a mobile device to the CBK-WA100/101 in access point mode. The SSID of the CBK-WA100/101 appears in the network list on the mobile device. The SSID and key are inscribed on the side of the CBK-WA100/101.
  • Page 24 Tap the global menu icon and select Settings (or tap the Settings button) to display the Settings screen, select the AP Settings menu item, and check the current AP mode settings. You can change the key for the SSID on this screen.

    5.3.3. Wired LAN Attach a wireless LAN USB device and RJ45 Adapter (CBK-NA1R), and turn on the power. Access the web menu via wireless LAN to display the Wired LAN Settings screen. Tap the global menu icon, and select Settings > Wired LAN Settings. The following information is required.

    5.3.4. Networks Combinations You can connect to several networks simultaneously using the CBK-DL1. Note 4G/LTE and wired LAN cannot be used simultaneously. Only 4G/LTE is used.     5.4. Network Client Mode Settings Check that the Date Time settings are correct before configuring the Network Client Mode settings. Access the web menu, and select Settings > System Settings > Date & Time. Set Date & Time to the current date and time. Register an NTP server and set Adjust Data on boot to On to obtain and adjust time information over the Internet.

    When Proxy Format Size is set to HD/SD Auto, the Proxy Recording setting is set to Off and cannot be changed. Tap the OK button.     5.5.2. Wireless LAN After configuring a wireless LAN, the next step is to test for network communication via the wireless LAN. Turn on the CBK-WA100/101, and check that the Wi-Fi mode status indicator appears on the camcorder LCD screen. When the network connection is working correctly, the Wi-Fi mode status indicator appears.

    5.5.3. Wired LAN After configuring a wired LAN, the next step is to test for network communication via the wired LAN. Turn on the camcorder, and check that the LAN status indicator appears on the camcorder LCD screen. When the network connection is working correctly, the LAN status indicator appears. “12.1.3.

    5.6. Network Client Mode Communication Test After the network communication test is successful, the next step is to test Network Client Mode. Select Settings > Network Client Mode Settings, and select Preset in the drop-down list. Note The display name “XDCAM air” of Preset 1 is used as an example. 5.6.1.

Streaming Test After checking that Network Client Mode communication is successful, you can check QoS streaming. This test is controlled from the CCM UI.

    Setup for “Camera Remote Control” Chapter 8.1. Camcorder Settings For camera remote operation via a network, set Maintenance > Wi-Fi Settings > Wi-Fi Remote in the setup menu to Enable. This function is available only on Network RX Station. 8.2. Camera Remote Test After checking that Network Client Mode communication is successful, you can check camera remote operation.

    Setup for “File Naming using Planning Metadata” Chapter 9.1. Camcorder Settings For setting file names using planning metadata, the following settings must be configured. Select Operation > Clip > in the setup menu, and set Auto Naming to Plan. Select Operation > Clip > in the setup menu, and set Name Display to On. Note If Proxy Recording Size is set to “HD/SD Auto (9M/6Mbps), proxy recording cannot be started after the Network Client Mode setting is set to On.

    Chapter 10.1. Camcorder Settings For automatically uploading proxy files, the following setting must be configured on the CBK-WA100/101. Select Settings > Upload Settings in the menu, and set Auto Upload to On. When Auto Upload is set to On, the uploading of proxy files to a destination server after proxy recording is enabled.

    Note You can find the user name and password in Maintenance > Basic Authentication in the setup menu. Enter the user name and password to access the CBK-WA100/101. After accessing successfully, the Device Status screen appears in the web menu.
  • Page 41 To use your own FTP server, tap the Create New button and specify the server settings. Depending on the network environment, the FTP port may be closed. In this case, you can specify a different port with the host name. For example, if Host Name is “XXX.YYY.ZZZ” and Port is “123”, enter “XXX.YYY.ZZZ:123”.

If NCM: RX Server was selected as the FTP server, this test is controlled from the CCM UI. If you use your own FTP server, you can test proxy file transfer using a web browser.
