    The MIC500 series is capable of firing up to sixteen cylinders with either one or two spark plugs per cylinder. In the case of two spark plugs per cylinder, the corresponding ignition coils must be wired in series.

    Trigger disc configurations are listed in Chapter 2. The MIC500 series is intended only for use on the engines listed in the configuration table (see Chapter 3). It also needs to be programmed to comply with the appropriate engine.

    Setting the Ignition Timing Adjustment Range and positioning the Trigger Disc The maximum ignition timing range of the MIC500 series ignition control module is 38 degrees. The maximum range is achieved with a base setting of 40º BTDC or more. Lower base settings reduce the ignition timing range.

    WARNING! The engine power supply must be disconnected and safeguarded against switching on before beginning any work on the MIC500 series. Do not make any power supply connections into live power circuits! Never switch on the ignition control module without the output leads connected to the unit.

    PC or Laptop through the RS-232 link. Input Power Pins A (+) and B (–) connect the MIC500 series to input power from an external power source. The rated operating range is 10–32 VDC. (steady state operation from 10 to 18 VDC is allowable but may not be able to achieve 100% energy).
