6 MAINTENANCE

6.2.7 Troubleshooting a pulse counter module

Case 1 -- no pulse measurement (counting) is performed:
Power supply module's abnormality
Remote I/O station module's abnormality
Support program not loaded for the S10/2α
controller with the pulse counter module installed in
it
Mounting error
External stop input made
User program always in "counting stopped" state
UP or DOWN
LED not flickering
in pulse signal
input
Pulse counter not registered in the CPU
None of the above
Check item
Input pulse signal wiring
incorrect
External input power not
supplied
External power source voltage
too low
Input pulse signal incorrect.
The signal must satisfy the
following:
Frequency: 20 kHz or less
for LWC400 and
LWC401;
100 kHz or less
for LWC402
Duty ratio: 50%
Troubleshoot the power supply module
according to the instructions given in
Subsection 6.2.1.
Troubleshoot the remote I/O station
module according to the instructions given
in Subsection 6.2.2.
Load the support program to the S10/2α
controller's CPU.
(In the case of S10mini CPUs and S10V
LPUs, no such loading is necessary.)
Mount the pulse counter module properly.
Cancel the external stop input.
Correct the user program.
Correct the wiring.
Supply power to the external input.
Apply rated voltage (20 to 28 VDC) to the
external input.
Apply correct input pulse signal to the
pulse counter.
Register a data area for the pulse counter
module by using an available tool.
Replace the pulse counter module with a
new one.
