Errors and causes

The following possible causes should help for trouble-shooting. If an error can not be eliminated,
the responsible service agent (see paragraph 11 Service) must be informed.
Motor does not start
Check socket and fuse at the casting machine / ceramic furnace.
Check mains connection. (cable and plug).
Check starting capacitor (see paragraph 5.1 Elements of device, pos. 4). (service)

Check oil level and change oil if required.

Jamming of pump / motor does not pull through
Pump has run without oil –> inform service (see paragraph 11 Service).
Pump starts with difficulties / runs too slowly
contaminated oil –> change oil.
Too much oil filled in –> drain excess oil.
Incorrect type of oil –> change oil.
Pump has not been operated for a longer time (weeks or months) –> pump with closed intake.
Let pump run for approx. 5 minutes, change oil if required, look for corrosion. (corrosion particles in the oil?)
Starting capacitor (see paragraph 5.1 Elements of device, pos. 4) defective. (service)
Insufficient vacuum
Intake (suction) line leaky –> check clamps and tube.
Check oil level and fill up if required.
Filter element (see paragraph 5.1 Elements of device, pos. 2) clogged –> exchange filter element.
Pump gets unusually hot
normal working temperature approx. 80°C to 90°C (176°F to 194°F).
Blocked cooling air supply –> do not block fan openings.
Too much oil filled in –>drain excess oil.
Filter element (see paragraph 5.1 Elements of device, pos. 2) clogged –> exchange filter element.
Oil mist resp. loss of oil
Too much oil filled in –> drain excess oil, exchange filter element (see paragraph 5.1 Elements of device, pos. 2).
Pump was tilted with oil filled in –> exchange filter (see paragraph 5.1 Elements of device, pos. 2).
Incorrect type of oil –> change oil, exchange filter (see paragraph 5.1 Elements of device, pos. 2).
Filter element (see paragraph 5.1 Elements of device, pos. 2) used –> exchange filter.
If errors can not be eliminated: inform service, addresses can be found in paragraph 11 Service.
