Oil level

NOTE!
The oil level must be regularly checked in the viewing glass, i.e. at least once a week. The oil level is OK, if the viewing
glass (see paragraph Elements of device, pos. 3) is filled to at least 1/3 in the operational condition, however, the level
does not exceed the marking "max.". If the oil level has dropped to the marking "min.", oil must be filled up immedia-
tely. Operation without oil resp. with contaminated or not enough oil affects the service life of the pump and may result
in damage to the pump housing. Oil should only be filled up when the pump is switched off!

7.1.1 Oil change / filling up

DISCONNECT FROM MAINS!
Unplug the unit in order to fill in or fill up oil!
The oil fill screw (see paragraph 5.1 Elements of device, pos. 7) at the operational pump is loosened with the Allan key that is
included in the accessory parts. After removing this screw, the missing quantity of oil (max. 60 ml for initial filling) is filled in.
Then the screw is tightened again.
In order to drain the oil (e.g. oil change or transport), the pump is placed in a vertical position with the viewing glass facing
upward. The oil drain screw (see paragraph 5.1 Elements of device, pos. 8) is removed with the Allan key.
Turn the pump to drain the oil. Tighten oil drain screw and remove oil fill screw (see paragraph 5.1 Elements of device, pos. 7).
Fill up oil (max. 60 ml) and tighten the oil fill screw. Check oil level in the viewing glass (see paragraph 5.1 Elements of device,
pos. 3). Plug mains plug into in the unit!
NOTE!
First oil change should be carried out after approx. 100 operating hours. Further oil change intervals depend on the
working process and the resulting contaminations. If standard working conditions are ensured,
we recommend to carry out regular oil change after 10.000 casting procedures or at least for ceramic furnaces
once a year.
NOTE!
Premature ageing of the oil can be caused e.g. by harmful vapors that are released, high surrounding temperatures
or dusts, in particular during the use of ceramic furnaces. In this case we recommend
the use of a special oil (Order No.: 646 01 432). The oil should be changed 4 times a year.
A milky and foamy consistency indicates that the oil has been contaminated by water and dust.
CAUTION!
Note following:
If oil change intervals are not adhered to, there is a risk of corrosion and damage to the pump housing!
Used oil must not reach the sewage system!
Observe the legal provisions on the handling of used oil!

7.1.2 Filter element

Depending on the operating conditions, the filter element (see paragraph 5.1 Elements of device, pos. 2) must be exchanged
after 10.000 casting procedures ore at least once a year but no later than after oil mist or loss of oil can be recognized or in case
of excess current consumption of the drive motor.
The filter element features a standard thread without sealing ring.
Used filters must be disposed of together with the special waste.
