Mains connection

The unit is connected to the mains via the enclosed power cable into a socket with earthed conductor protection.
The Heraeus-Combilabor units that are intended to be connected with the pump feature a socket with separate protection.
The pump is connected to the Heramat C, Heramat C2 or Heramat C3 via the depicted cold appliance plug
(see paragraph 5.1 Elements of device, pos. 9).

Check power supply of the interior installation of the building in comparison with the datas of the pump.
The provisions and regulations for prevention of accidents 10.4 for compressors as well as the regulations of the VDE
(Association of German Electrotechnical Engineers) and the local Electricity Board are applicable.

Location and installation

PROHIBITED!
Power cable must not be used for transport.
Risk of damage to the strain relief and the connection cable.
Unpack the unit, remove possible contaminations. Dispose of packaging or send back to Heraeus Kulzer GmbH.
The pump must be placed on a skid-proof surface in a horizontal position.
Location: dry, adequately ventilated room. Table area 200 x 300 mm.
Prior to initial operation, the pump must be filled with the enclosed special oil (60 ml).
The oil level must be checked prior to any further operation and – if required − oil must be filled up.
(See paragraph 7 Maintenance, paragraph 7.1 Oil level, paragraph 7.1.1 Oil change / filling up and paragraph 9 Types of oil).
CAUTION!
Note following:
Pump that is filled with oil must not be placed upside down!
Used oil must not reach the sewage system!
Observe legal provisions for the handling of used oil!
The unit must not be connected to a separate socket of the interior installation of the building!
The vacuum pump should not be on the same level as the connected device.
The vacuum pump should be lower than the connected device.
Plug mains plug into the socket for the pump connection of the units, if required use adapter.
The pump is switch on resp. off depending on the function of the unit that is connected in series.
The pump is ready for operation. The technical data of the pump and the motor can be found on the type plate of the pump
(see paragraph 5.1 Elements of device, pos. 5) eg. the paragraph 10.1 Technical data.

Maintenance

CAUTION!
Any other measures than those described in the following may affect the proper function and safe operation of the
pump. Therefore they must be avoided at any rate. The pump does not include parts that require maintenance
by the user. In case of malfunctions please contact your responsible service agent.
