8. Did the following appear on your screen?
YES - Proceed with Step 9.
NO - Remove the diskette and verify that it is the Diagnostics diskette and that it was
inserted correctly.
If the Diagnostics diskette was inserted correctly, have the system unit serviced.
Note: If you are using a non-IBM display, you could experience data errors when you
operate your diskette drive. To correct this problem, move the display a minimum of 30
cm (12 in.) away from the system unit.
9. Press 1 (FORMAT DISKETTE); then press the Enter key. If you are unable to enter the
proper information have your keyboard serviced; otherwise, proceed with Step 10.
