Remove the fuel line hose clamp from the fuel
pump and pull the fuel line downwards.

Unscrew the safety guard attachments, (two skrews
on each side) and lift out the safety guard.
Rider 850/970 do not have a safety guard.

Remove the cover plate over the silencer (two screws
on either side of the silencer) and lift out the plate.

Remove the exhaust pipe clamps and the silencer's
four holder screws. Then remove the silencer and
the exhaust pipe.
On Rider 850/970, the exhaust pipe is removed
without removing the silencer.
