6. Measure the clearance between the rocker arms
and the valve stems. Refer to

7. If the clearance is not correct, adjust the valve play.

9. Install the spark plug.
6.11.3 To adjust the valve play
1. Hold the rocker arm pivot and loosen the locknut.
2. Turn the rocker arm pivot to adjust the clearance.
3. Tighten the pivot locknut.
4. Measure the clearance between the rocker arms
and the valve stems.
5. Examine the valve play. Refer to
valve play on page 37 .
