isacfg
ISA devices can not be probed by software for configuration information. Consequently, the
ISA configuration utility is used to enter ISA option information manually. The isacfg
command is used when a new ISA option module is installed into a system running the
TRU64 UNIX and OpenVMS operating systems. As the isacfg command lines are long and
complex, commands have been added to the console to perform a specific configuration for the
first option card of a certain type to be added to the system. Details of the add_fax and
add_sound commands are included.
At first power on the configuration table is initialized to a default condition. This setup
contains entries for the following devices:
Mouse
Keyboard
COMA
COMB
LPT1
EIDE
Floppy disk.
These are all slot 0 devices and are allocated their default architected resources. If required the
Sound device can be added via the add_sound command to enable the on-board sound device.
There is an absolute limit of 12 devices, including the slot 0 devices above. There is no way of
configuring more devices than this although COMB, EIDE and LPT1 may be removed to
allow extra devices.
Syntax
The syntax of the isacfg command is as follows, broken across multiple lines for display
purposes:
>>>
isacfg [-slot {slot#}] [-dev {device#}] [-all|-rm|-
mk|-mod] [-{field} {value}] . . .
Options
Table 5-19 describes the isacfg command options.
