2. Installation instructions

2.1 Description of the device
and device layout
A
Vented (non-pressurized) hot water storage
heater for installation beneath working
surface, for supplying a tapping point. Only if
vented (non-pressurized) Stiebel Eltron
fittings are used can we guarantee that the
storage heater will work perfectly.

2.3 Regulations and
provisions
• Installation (water and electrical
installation) of this appliance, taking into
service for the first time, and maintenance
may only be carried out by a qualified
installer, in accordance with these
instructions.
• Perfect function and operational safety can
only be guaranteed if original accessories
and spare parts are used which were
intended for it.

energy supply utility.
• Regulations and provisions of the local
water supply utility.
• The outlet from the fitting has the function
of providing venting. Do not obstruct the
outlet nozzles or the fitting pivot arm. Do
not connect any perlators / aeriators or
water jet regulators to the hose.
• The device is to be connected by means of
a protective earth power socket (see „2.7
Electrical Connection").
2.4 Important note
If this unit is exposed to mains water
pressure, the water container may
start leaking and cause damage.
2.5 Installation location
The storage heater is to be installed in an
area protected against frost, upright, and with
the water connection pointing upwards.
2.6 Installing the device
• Install the suspension strip (6).
• The connection strip can be inserted into
the existing line mounting.
• Suspend the device in place.
• Fit the water connection. Set the flow
volume to max. 5 l/min. (see Description
of Fitting). The coloured markings on fitting
pipes and unit must match:
blue = cold water inlet (3)
red
= hot water outlet (4)
If you confuse the connections, the hot
water heater will not function.
• Temperature selection limitation
If temperature selection limitation is
required, the limitation ring
inserted beneath the temperature selector
switch, at a maximum temperature value.

A protective earth plug socket is required for
connecting the device, which must be freely
accessible after the device has been installed.
If it is intended that the device is to be
permanently connected to the AC mains
supply (device connection socket), it must be
possible for it to be isolated at all poles from
the mains over an isolating distance of at
least 3 mm. Installation with a fixed
connection lead is not permissible.
2.8 First start-up
carried out by a qualified installer)
I. Open hot water valve of the fitting or set
single-lever mixer to "hot" until water
flows free of bubbles.
II. Plug in mains and select temperature.

Check the operation of the appliance.
A thermal fuse is fitted within the
appliance. If this operates for safety
reasons it can be reset by simply turning
off the electrical supply to the water

heater. When the supply is switched on
again the thermal fuse will have reset. If
the problem continues, fault finding should
be carried out by a qualified engineer.
Handing over the device
Explain to the user how the device works
and familiarise him with its operation. Draw
attention to possible hazards (scalding) and
to the fact that the fitting drips during heating
up (but not with WAT 5 and WAT 5 K).
Hand over these instructions for use and
installation.
