CHECKING THERMO TIME SWITCH
Cold Engine
1 . Disconnect electrical connector at cold start
valve.
2 . Connect voltmeter to electrical connector .
3 . Disconnect high tension wire at ignition coil
and operate starter .
4 . Voltmeter must deflect for about 1 - 8 sec.
Replace thermo time switch if necessary.

Thermo time switch will operate at about

35 C

(95 F) . Voltmeter may not deflect if test is at
higher temperature.
Fuel Mixture
CHECKING COLD START VALVE OPERATION
Cold Engine
1 . Remove cold start valve. Fuel line and elec -
trical connector remain connected.
2 . Disconnect high tension line at ignition coil.
3 . Hold cold start valve in an appropriate con -
tainer .
4 . Turn on ignition and have a second person
operate the starter . Valve must give off an
even conical fuel pattern for about 1 - 8 sec .
