Water and dirt particles in the compressed
air cause rust formation and lead to clog-
ging of vanes, valves, etc. To prevent this, a
few drops of engine oil should be placed in
the air inlet 4. Reconnect the pneumatic
tool to the air supply (see "Connection to the Air Sup-
ply", page 18) and let the tool run for 5–10 s while
catching the oil that runs out with a rag. If the pneu-
matic tool is not used for a longer time, this pro-
cedure should always be performed.
All Bosch pneumatic tools that do not belong to the
CLEAN-series (a special kind of air motor that functions
with oil-free compressed air), require a small amount of
lubricating oil be mixed into the flow of compressed air.
The compressed air oiler required for this is located at
the compressed air maintenance unit connected to the
pneumatic tool (you may obtain further details on this
from a compressor manufacturer).
Lubricants:
SAE 10/SAE 20 engine oil
16
After approximately 100 000 screwing operations, the
pulse mechanism must be relubricated. For this, turn the
impact wrench so that the handle faces upward.
Unscrew the locking screw 16 in counterclockwise
direction using a fitting hex key (see "Technical Data",
page 18). Drain the waste oil in an environmental-friendly
manner. Fill engine oil into the pulse mechanism through
the opening of the locking screw. Information on the
quantity of the engine oil to be refilled can be found in the
"Engine oil" row (see "Technical Data", page 18).
Remove any excess oil using a soft cloth. Screw in the
locking screw 16 in clockwise direction and tighten.
The motor vanes should be routinely inspected by
trained personnel and, if necessary, replaced.
Have maintenance and repair work performed
only by qualified specialists. In this manner, it
can be ensured that the safety of the pneumatic tool
is maintained.
Observe all applicable environmental regula-
tions when disposing of old grease and solvents.

Disposal

Dispose of the motor vanes properly! Motor
vanes contain Teflon. Do not heat them above
400 °C, because this could result in the formation
of dangerous vapors.
If your air tool can no longer be used, deliver it to a recy-
cling center or return it to a dealer – for example, an
authorized Bosch service center.
Subject to change without notice.
