3. Using Traffic Controller Outputs as Input Connections with the HARMONY IP I/O8
The following application shows you how to connect a Traffic Controller to the Input Connection of a
HARMONY IP I/O8.
A Traffic Controller is an example of a device with Open Collector Outputs. Refer to the User Manual of
your Traffic Controller or other equipment to determine if it is configured with Open Collector Outputs.
The Controller Equipment open collector outputs need to have a Pull Up Resistor (10K ohms) installed.
The Controller Equipment signal ground must be connected to the HARMONY IP I/O8 ground.
Connect each Controller Equipment open collector output to the HARMONY IP I/O8 Inputs as shown
below:
