does not come into direct contact with the protective dome, and that the
umbrella is positioned at least 50 cm from it.
8 Maintenance
The C-Light D does not require much maintenance by the user. The
outside of the equipment must be cleaned regularly of dust and dirt to
guarantee electric safety. The protective glass should also be cleaned
regularly.
Attention: The equipment must be disconnected from the power
supply before cleaning and may only be cleaned with a dry cloth.
Repairs and maintenance have to be done by an authorized service
department.
Replacing Fuses
In case it becomes necessary to replace a blown fuse on the lamp,
ensure that the equipment is first turned off, and that it has been
disconnected from the power supply. Check that the replacement fuse is
the same micro-fuse as listed in the technical data sheet.
Replacing Lamps
If the lamp needs to be replaced, this must only be done after
disconnecting the equipment from the power supply (pull the plug!). The
lamp and the metal vapor lamp have to cool off before replacement.
First, pull the protective dome carefully out of the spring clip mechanism.
Use extreme care when handling the open vapor lamp. It has to be
carefully pulled out from the spring clip mechanism, towards the front
and out of the plug contact. Then it can be replaced with a lamp of
identical type. Ensure that the glass body of the replacement metal
vapour lamp does not come in contact with your hands, because this will
reduce the lamp's operating life and cause an increased danger that the
lamp may burst.
NOTE: The applicable lamp has a very long operating life. However, we
recommend that you always carry spare lamps, fuses, and a spare
protective dome along with your equipment.
Attention! Never operate the C-Light D without the protective dome.
