2. When the person on the other end hears an answer tone from the phone, issues an ATX1D
command (X1 to disable the dial tone monitor) to instruct the modem to go off-hook and wait
for a carrier. If connection is successful, the CONNECT XXXX result code will be displayed on
the screen. Now you can hang up your phone and begin data communication with the remote
modem.
