Failure Indication

Fault code 04*.

Fault codes 05 or 20. *
Note: Dust blocking one phase of the photocoupler can cause the same symptoms as a defec-
tive photocoupler. If dust is found in the housing do not replace the photocoupler unless the
error reoccurs.

Fault code 06*.

To clear the error message it is necessary to either cycle the power to the Duplex Computer or enter option
99, change the data to 3 and exit option programming. Even if the problem is corrected the fault code will
continue to be displayed until one of the procedures mentioned above is executed.

Probable Cause
ROM error.
1. Computer found
defective ROM chip
during self test.
Pulser jitter.
1. Cracked or broken disc. Replace pulser disc.
2. Dirt blocking opening .
on pulser disc
3. Dust in housing.
4. Disc tension is not
correct.
5. Misalignment
between pulser drive
shaft and coupling
gear on meter.
6. Defective photocoupler. Replace.
7. Air in system causing
severe hydraulic shock.
8. Loose plug or wire
connection.
9. Defective solenoid
drive board.
10. Defective computer.
Illegal current sensed in valve or relay circuit.
1. Solenoid drive board
has defective solid
state relay.
2. Computer is holding
solid state relay on.
Corrective Action
Clear error. If problem reoccurs
replace computer.
Clean pulser disc.
Clean dust from housing and
photocoupler. Adjust disc to keep
it from rubbing on photocoupler.
Adjust or shim wave washers on
pulser shaft assembly.
Drive shaft must be aligned in
center of coupling gear on meter.
To align, loosen mounting bolts
on pulser housing and reposition
housing.
Repair or replace faulty piping;
purge all air from system.
Correct wiring.
Replace solenoid drive board.
Replace computer.
Replace solenoid drive board.
Replace computer.
