Using the wake up timer
Youcan use the timer as au alum clock tu wake up to
the sound of a disc lomiedor the rmiio. If you have an
external component operated by a separate time1;you
cau also set it as the sourcefunction.
Once the tinmr is active,it will switchthe systemon
eveuday at the set time.
Unlikean ordina U alarm clock,you need to set a
systemswitchofftinm, as well as a switchon tinm.
Select the source that you'd like to wake
up to.
Fora disc,press DVD/CD; for theradiopress TUNER/
BAND;for all external component, pressTV/AUX.
Load a disc or tune to a radio station,
then set the volume.
If you selectedan external component, make the
appropriate tinmr settingsfor it.
Press SYSTEM SETUP.
Press _ or I_ until you see TIMER in the
display.
Press ENTER.
Press _ or I_ until you see WAKE UP SET
in the display.
Press ENTER.
The display showsa switchon time with the hour
blinking.
Set the switch on time.
Use• and • tu set the hour then press ENTER. g et the
minute in the santo wax/, p ressing ENTERto finish.
• If you make a mistake, press SYSTEM SETUPaud
start again fi'om step3.

Set the switch off time.
Set in the sane way as the switch on time, pressing
ENTER to finish.

Ifyou make a mistake,press SYSTEM SETUPaud
start again f_'omstep3.
Check the settings you just made.
The display should indicate that you have set the wake
up timer, then show the on time, the off time, the
function (DVD, e tc.), and the volume.The display
showsCHECKEND _ter all the settings.
• There is no direct way to edit the tinmr settings. If
you see thai some timer setting is not what you'd
intended,you'll need to start the processagain f_'omthe
top.
Switch the system into standby.
The timer will not work if the systemis leI_on!
The timer indicator (_) ) lights when the timer is on.
Activating/deactivating the wake up
timer
'Ib activatethe wake up time_;set the timer to ON. 'Ib
deactivateit, set the tinmr to OFF.
Press SYSTEM SETUR
Press _ or I_ until you see TIMER in the
display.
Press ENTER.
Press the _ or I_ button until you see
TIMER ON or TIMER OFF in the display.
Press ENTER.
The timerindicator( _D) lightswhenthetimeris on.
