Secure loose equipment
As soon as the berth is left, loose equipment should be lashed safely, especially the pantry, the engine room and the
bathrooms. There, things are often turned off unsecured and require backup. Particularly heavy and sharp-edged
objects could injure persons or animals or damage other objects or equipment.
Stability – risk of loss of stability
The term stability refers to the floating position of the boat. Stability describes the boat's ability to counteract offensive
forces.
Attention
The boat should never be loaded with a higher load than recommended by the manufacturer. The masses / weights
should be evenly distributed, because the stability is significantly reduced by additional, high-lying weights in the
boat.
Stability may also be affected by the back and forth sloshing of liquids in the boat (bilge or cockpit) or in tanks.
The bilge water level should therefore always be checked. The bilge should therefore always be kept dry.
In case of wrong driving maneuvers the boat can get into extreme movements!
Warning
Equipment can cause damage to the boat through uncontrolled movement and affect its stability. Before departure,
make sure that all equipment is adequately secured.
The stability of this boat is significantly reduced when the boat is in or ready to glide over the gliding slope,
especially during swell and course changes.
Stability may decrease when the boat is towing or when lifting heavy weights with the davit or boom.
Breaking waves are always a serious threat to stability, so be careful.
Any change in the distribution of weights can significantly affect the boat's stability, trim and handling.
Collision avoidance
The international rules for the prevention of collisions at sea (COLREG) and the regulations of the waterways demand
the crew of a permanent lookout as well as the observation of the fairway. Before traveling, make sure that there are no
other vehicles on your course.
