Boot lid (Notchback)
Opening
To open the boot lid, push the
touchpad when the boot lid is
unlocked.
The boot lid is also opened by
pressing button s on the radio
remote control.
The boot lid is locked or unlocked
when all doors are locked or unlocked
with the radio remote control.
9 Danger
Do not drive with the tailgate open
or ajar, e.g. when transporting
bulky objects, since toxic exhaust
gases, which can not be seen or
smelled, could enter the vehicle.
This can cause unconsciousness
and even death.
Caution
Before opening the boot lid check
overhead obstructions, such as a
garage door, to avoid damage of
the boot lid. Always check the
moving area above and behind the
boot lid.
Note
When the engine is running, the boot
lid can be opened with shift lever in
"P" position (automatic
transmission) or the parking brake
applied (manual transmission).
Note
The installation of certain heavy
accessories onto the boot lid may
affect its ability to remain open.
Closing
To close the boot lid, push it down so
it latches securely.
Do not press the touchpad while
closing. It can cause opening again.
