DS60 expansion shelf

Front panel

The appropriate capacity license is required for any added shelf. There are three tiers
of storage—active, archive, and cache. A license is purchased and applied to one of
these tiers.
Note
Only Data Domain Extended Retention (ER) systems have archive tier storage.
Note
Only Data Domain DD6300, DD6800 and DD9300 systems configured with SSDs, or
those systems configured with an FS15 shelf have cache tier storage.
An Expanded-Storage license is required to expand the active tier storage above the
amount originally installed. You cannot use additional storage without first applying the
appropriate licenses.
Additional licensing information is available in the Data Domain Operating System
Administration Guide and the Data Domain Operating System Command Reference Guide .
This section describes the shelf front panel, the status lights visible from the front, the
interior layout of the disks, the back panel, and the status lights visible from the rear
of the chassis.

Note
The front LEDs are identified inside the red rectangle.
If there is a problem with the enclosure, the enclosure fault light LED (marked with a
triangle with an exclamation mark) is amber. When the shelf is powered on and active,
the disk enclosure power LED (marked with a circle with a vertical line) is blue.
