6) Maintenance - Special care for the chest strap will prolong its life
and
insure proper pickup of the
h
eart rate signal. Remove the snap-on
transmitter
before cleaning the strap. The strap should be cleaned after each use
, and
especially
if different
individuals
will be using the same strap. The strap can
and
should
be cleaned with a mild soap and water
solution.
However,
never
use
alcohol
or any abrasives such as steel wool or cleaning chemicals. They
will cause permanent damage to the electrodes. The transmitter is powered by
a durable battery
with
a life expectancy of approximately 2500 hours. The
battery is a Panasonic #BR2325 and can be found at most electronic supply
stores or may be ordered from Spirit. The transmitter is Polar's commercial
quality system and has been proven 99% accurate
.
COUNT DOWN TIMER FUNCTION

If computer is set to count down from an
established time (wh ile in Heart Rate Control), the clock will not start until you
have reached your target. This feature allows you to know you have the
selected number of minutes in your target zone
.
