Learning the Prox tag within the 'Ness 4 Button Radio
Key with Prox key' (106-299) into a Ness M1 Panel
Introduction
This technical note will show you how to learn the Proximity tag that is within the Ness 4 Button
radio key with Prox' (Ness Part No 106-299) into an Ness M1 panel.
Things to know before you begin
You will need to have a Proximity reader connected to a Ness M1 Keypad (KP2 or KP3) and
ideally have ELKRP connected to the M1. You cannot learn a Proximity tag directly into a Single
door Access Module (101-246). Therefore if you only have a Single Door access module on the
project you will need to temporarily connect a proximity reader to the back of the keypad.
The following diagram, as supplied in the Installation manual of the KP2 or KP3 keypad shows
how to connect the proximity reader to the reader.
Note: you will need a 2 Wire Wiegand cable (Ness Part No. 450-212) to connect the reader to the keypad to
connect a Proximity Reader (e.g. 101-014) to enrol the Proximity Fob. .
You will also need to know what spare M1 User Slot you have available to learn the Proximity
tag to.
