  • Page 8 Medical Vacuum Filter Modules 3. Place one sealing washer over fitting. The second sealing washer is an extra. 5. Lastly, install the drain flask by screwing it onto the ball valve located on the bottom of the filter. Open the ball valve (handle in vertical position) before startup and during operation. 4. The finished assembly is now ready to be installed. The two arrow decals pictured above may or not be included. If so, discard. They are not required for this application.

    Medical Vacuum Filter Modules 3.0 Operation Precautions WARNING: Do not put MV Filter Module into operation until verified by a qualified person per NFPA 99, ISO 7396-1, or HTM 02-01. NFPA 99: 2018 Operational Procedure In order to comply with NFPA code, one filter must be in reserve at all times. This means that the but- terfly valves on both sides of one filter must be closed at all times.

    Medical Vacuum Filter Modules 4.0 Trouble Shooting Problem Possible Causes Solution Higher than usual differential Dirty filter element See maintenance schedule in section 5.2 pressure across the system or lower than usual flow through Too many filters offline See operational procedures in sections 3.2- the system 3.4 for the minimum required filters to be offline Blockages in system Inspect tubes for blockages Reduced vacuum level Leak(s) in system Check monthly for blockages and leaks in the system. If a leak is suspected, pressurize the system to maximum 30 psi and check for leaks.

The picture above shows the filter housing unscrewed from the filter head and partially removed. 4. Unscrew the filter housing. A strap wrench will ease in loosening the filter housing. After the filter housing is loosened, it can be unscrewed by hand. 4107 9022 25.00...

  • Page 15 Medical Vacuum Filter Modules 10. Install new filter by pressing firmly upwards into the filter head until the filter is seated. 12. Re-install the drain flask by screwing it onto the ball valve located on the bottom of the filter and re-open the butterfly valves on both sides of the filter. 13. Lastly, dispose of all contaminated PPE. 11. Install new filter housing O-ring that is provided with kit and re-install housing by fully tightening the housing onto the head.
