of the workpiece as usual and as soon as you have reached the
requested cutting depth, bring the blade into the vertical position and
continue sawing along the cutting line.
Note: Immediately switch OFF the reciprocating saw,
-
if smoke or sparks are observed coming from or around the
collector resp. the rotor,
-
if the reciprocating saw does not function properly or only inter-
mittently when the battery, charger, plug, power cable or switch
are damaged,
-
if smoke or a strong smell of burned insulating material is ob-
served,
-
if the saw blade comes loose, is crooked or damaged,
-
if the motor runs irregularly or jams,
-
if the saw blade jams. Slightly open the sawn split in the work-
piece and extract the saw blade. Do not try to finish the cutting
process with a jammed saw blade to avoid injury or damaging
the reciprocating saw and the saw blade.

Service

WARNING: Always disconnect from the mains power supply, before
carrying out any maintenance/cleaning of the charger. Remove the
battery before carrying out any maintenance/cleaning of the reciprocat-
ing saw.
Note: Both the reciprocating saw and the charger contain no user-
serviceable parts. If the device does not perform as outlined in this
manual, turn to the Westfalia customer service or to a competent
professional.

General Inspection

 Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight.
 Inspect the supply cord of the charger for damage or wear prior to
each use. Repairs should be carried out by an authorised service
centre. This advice also applies to extension cords used with this
tool.
