11. Blood Pressure Measurement Procedure

Indication of Use:
The device is designed to measure blood pressure (systolic and diastolic) and pulse rate
for adult patients with arm circumference range between 22.0 cm to 42.0 cm.
Mandatory instructions to be followed during blood pressure measurement
 Relax yourself/user in a comfortable position.
 Avoid eating, exercising and smoking for 30 minutes before taking a measurement.
 Avoid taking measurements during stressful times.
 Avoid sitting with crossed legs position.
 Remove tight-fitting clothing from the right upper arm.
 Sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor and place the right arm on a table as
shown below.
 Apply the cuff to the right upper arm so that the cuff is wrapped at the same level of
your heart.
 Ensure that the arrow present in the BP cuff points towards the artery of the right
hand as shown below.
 Stay calm without shaking the hand/body during the measurement.
Wait for a minimum of one or two minutes between measurements.

