2.4 Working Principles

The UPS consists of a PFC rectifier, an inverter, a battery charger (BC), a DC-DC converter,
batteries, and a static switch. Figure 2-5 shows the UPS block diagram.

The UPS works in any of the following three modes:

The PFC rectifier boosts AC input and converts it into stable DC power for the inverter, and
the battery charger utilizes energy from the AC input and regulates it to continuously charge
