    c. When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
  • Page 6 SAFETY RULES FOR OSCILLATING SAWS & SANDERS 1. Hold power tools by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting tools may contact hidden wiring. Contact with a “live” wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool “live” and shock the operator. Do not cut or break into existing walls or other blind areas where electrical wiring may exist.

    BATTERY AND CHARGER TIPS FOR EXTENDING BATTERY LIFE Do not store discharged (flat) batteries, always charge them fully before storing. HOW TO CHARGE A BATTERY WARNING: THE BATTERY CAN BE HOT TO THE TOUCH WHEN REMOVED FROM THE TOOL. ALWAYS LET THE BATTERY COOL DOWN BEFORE RECHARGING.

    HOW TO ATTACH THE BATTERY ATTACH THE BATTERY 1. Insert the battery into the end of the multi-function tool. TO REMOVE THE BATTERY 1. Squeeze and hold the release buttons on the side of the battery. 2. Slide the battery out of the base of the multi-function tool.
  • Page 9 3. Replace the retaining disc. • Make sure that the ridged face of the retaining disc is in contact with the accessory. 4. Use the hex key supplied to secure with the retaining screw. • Do not overtighten. HOW TO ATTACH A SANDING SHEET The sanding pad has a hook and loop material to which the sanding sheets are quickly and simply attached.

    OPERATION 1. Hold the tool tightly and move the On/Off switch forward. • The motor will then run continuously. 2. Adjust the speed control shown to the required setting (1-6). 3. Slowly apply the tool to the work piece and continue to sand or cut.
  • Page 11 USING THE SANDER ATTACHMENT WARNING: ALWAYS WEAR EYE PROTECTION AND A DUST MASK FOR DUSTY APPLICATIONS AND WHEN SANDING OVERHEAD. CHOOSING THE CORRECT SANDING SHEET Make sure that you use the correct sandpaper grit for the work at hand. Always test on a section of unwanted material before use. The sanding sheets are rated according to the number marked on the back of each sheet.

    USING THE SCRAPER In scraping mode, the tool can be used to remove materials such as paint, sealant residues, adhesives, fabrics and vinyl from materials such as wood, plastic, metal and painted surfaces. 1. Switch the tool on and adjust the speed control to a medium/high speed as required.

    USING THE SAW ATTACHMENT In sawing mode, the tool can be used to cut materials such as wood, plastics and sheet metal such as aluminium, although the supplied blades are not ideally suited to cutting steel or similar ferrous metals. CAUTION: CLAMP THE WORKPIECE SECURELY IF POSSIBLE BEFORE STARTING WORK.
