Changing the ruler

1. Loosen the knurled screws (Abb. 2, item 1) on the
mounts of the ruler.
2. Slide up and remove the present ruler (with a scale
starting from 1000 mm) from the DAS 800/1000
(VAS 6430).
3. Slide the ruler (1 690 382 469) from the scope of
delivery of the SCT 141x (with a scale starting from
500 mm) through the ruler mounts.
4. Use the knurled screws to secure the ruler on the
mounts.

Removing the handles

To attach the SCT 141x to the DAS 800/1000
(VAS 6430), the handles (Abb. 3, item 1) must be
removed.
Loosen the screws (Abb. 3, item 2) until the handles
(Abb. 3, item 1) can be slid up and out of the frame.

Applying the "Indicator" label (1 690 382 482)

Apply the label to the indicator as shown in the
following figure.

"VAS SCT" position indicator – no offset

Indicates the height on ground-level measurement
bays.

Standard position indicator that cannot be moved or
removed.

The vehicle rests on the ground during calibration.

No offset by lift or leveling surface.
"SCT 1" position indicator – offset

Indicates the height on measurement bays with a lift
or leveling surface.

Flexible position indicator set according to the offset
value.

The vehicle rests on a lift or leveling surface (off the
ground).

The height of the lift or leveling surface is the offset
value.

The precision measuring bar touches the upper end
stops.
"SCT 2" position indicator – low calibration heights
R
Indicates the height for very low calibration heights
that cannot be reached by the "VAS SCT" or "SCT 1"
position indicators.

On measurement bays without an offset, the positi-
on indicator is set to 400 mm.

On measurement bays with an offset, the offset va-
lue is applied against the value of 400 mm: 400 mm
– offset value
