17. Slide both end stops (Abb. 19, item 1) up until they
meet the mounts (Abb. 19, item 2) and secure them
at 5 Nm.

18. Use sealing wax to mark the end stop position. Make
sure the contact surfaces remain free of sealing wax.

Installing the upper end stops

Prerequisites:
R
The DAS 800/1000 (VAS 6430) has been aligned
using the spirit level for the roll angle (Abb. 11, item
2) and the spirit level for the pitch angle (Abb. 11,
item 1).
R
The "SCT 1" and "SCT 2" position indicators are set
according to the measurement bay.
R
The lower end stops are attached to the frame.
R
Mount 1 and mount 2 are attached to the frame.
R
The precision measuring bar has not been inserted
into the mounts.
1. Make sure the ruler rests on the ground.
2. Use the hand crank to move the DAS 800/1000
(VAS 6430) up until the "VAS SCT" position indicator
is at 1250 mm.

3. Attach the P-Assist S5 to mount 2 and secure it with
the arrestor cable.
4. Switch on the P-Assist S5.
 The laser beam marks the ruler.

5. Move mount 2 in such a way that the laser beam
marks the ruler at the 1250-mm point.

6. Attach mount 2 using the star knob screws.
7. Move mount 1 in such a way that the laser beam
marks the upper indentation (Abb. 21, item 4) on
mount 1.
8. Remove the stop pin (Abb. 20, item 7) if it interrupts
the laser beam from mount 2 to mount 2.
