Storage Safety

Shut off the engine, remove the key, wait for all
moving parts to stop, and allow the machine to
cool before storing it.
Do not store the machine or fuel near flames.
Storage
1.
Park the machine on a level surface, engage the
parking brake, and lower the loader arms.
2.
Shut off the engine and remove the key.
3.
Remove dirt and grime from the external parts of
the entire machine, especially the engine. Clean
dirt and chaff from the radiator.
Important:
Wash the machine using mild
detergent and water. Do not pressure-wash
the machine. Avoid excessive use of water,
especially near the control panel, engine,
hydraulic pumps, and motors.

Service the air cleaner; refer to
Cleaner (page
28).
5.
Grease the machine; refer to
Machine (page
28).
6.
Drain water from the fuel filter; refer to
Water from the Fuel Filter (page
7.
Torque the wheel lug nuts to 68 N∙m (50 ft-lb).
8.
Check the hydraulic fluid level; refer to
the Hydraulic-Fluid Level (page
9.
Check the tire pressure; refer to
Tire Pressure (page
10.
Charge the battery; refer to the
Battery (page
34).
11.
Flush the fuel tank with fresh, clean diesel fuel.
12.
Check and tighten all fasteners. Repair or
replace any worn, damaged, or missing parts.
13.
Paint all scratched or bare metal surfaces with
paint available from your Authorized Service
Dealer.
14.
Check antifreeze protection and fill the radiator
with a 50/50 solution of water and permanent
ethylene glycol antifreeze. Refer to your engine
owner's manual or Authorized Service Dealer for
details on checking and maintaining the cooling
system.
15.
Store the machine in a clean, dry garage or
storage area. Remove the key from the key
switch and keep it in a memorable place.
