Software Verification and Configuration

If ibtsta completes with no errors and a bus analyzer is available,
connect the bus analyzer to the GPIB board, and then run ibtstb by
entering the following command:
ibtstb
If no error occurs, the NI-488M driver is installed correctly. If an error does
occur, try the following solutions until the verification test is successful.
1.
Run the verification test again, following the instructions carefully.
2.
Check the interrupt and DMA settings on your AT-GPIB board(s).
They should match the settings that appear on your screen with the
National Instruments copyright when you boot your computer.
3.
Return to the Using the Installation Script section in Chapter 2,
Software Installation, and repeat the installation procedure, following
the instructions carefully.
4.
If the installation is still not successful, refer to Appendix C, Customer
Communication, and fill out the configuration information before
contacting National Instruments.

Configure the Software with ibconf (Optional)

You might want to view or change some of the default software parameters.
The software configuration utility ibconf allows you to change these
software parameters. For example, ibconf allows you to change the
following items:
• names of devices
• connection of devices to boards
• primary and secondary GPIB address
• timeout value
• EOS byte
• whether the board is System Controller
